We went to the Ladies Kennel Association (LKA) in the NEC, Birmingham, England, with Gulliagh Zest, G Nedine, and G Sequoia, Mrs Jean Malley (Ainsea) was the judge. G Zest was second in Open Dog, G Nedine was second in Post-Graduate Bitch (the largest class of the day), and young G Sequoia won Puppy Dog and went to become Best Puppy in Breed, beating 24 other puppies.

We had yet another successful show at the 'Cloghran' All-Breed Championship Show. Ir Ch Gulliagh Zest won the Green Star Dog and Best of Breed under judge Mr R Margrain and collected Group 4 under Ms Carmel Barry-Sheehan. Meanwhile Zest's son, Gulliagh Sequoia won the Puppy Stakes (effectively Best Puppy in Show) judged by Mr H Tonks, beating over 40 other puppies of various breeds to qualify for the Pup of the Year, held on Easter Sunday.

At the All Ireland Bull Breeds Association Championship Show, once again Ir Ch Gulliagh Zest won the dog Green Star, just beating his brother G Zapata into 2nd in Open Dog. We have also just received confirmation that G Zest has qualified for the Irish Show Dog of the Year, in which the top four dogs from each group are judged in a knockout competition by an international judge.

This weekend, we helped to organise the Irish Wolfhound Club of Northern Ireland Breed Championship Show, at Hillsborough Fort, Co. Down, on the Friday and on Saturday, we went to the Belfast All-Breed Championship show at the King's Hall, in Balmoral, Belfast.  At the IWCNI Show, we didn't show our own dogs, we had three handlers to exhibit our hounds. Under the judge Frau Wilfriede Schwerm-Hahne from Germany, we won Best Limit with Gulliagh Zapata, Puppy Dog class with G Sequoia and Best Brace with G Nedine & Narnia. Also we won the Team, Brood Bitch with G Serendipity, with daughters Nedine and Narnia, who beat Nedine with her puppies, G Scarlet and Sequoia. We also were placed in most classes with a record entry of 62. Results at www.iwcni.co.uk.

At Belfast, Mrs Zena Thorn-Andrews was officiating. We won both puppy classes, and Best Puppy, with Gulliagh Scarlet. Our other exhibits, Narnia and Zamora were placed in Limit and Open Bitch respectively.

So we had a busy, successful weekend, now for a rest!!!

We have been at the National Concert Hall with Ir/GB Ch Gulliagh Serendipity and Gulliagh Zapata have been staring in the musical 'Camelot'. Two Fair Dames hold a hound each while King Arthur walks on to stage!! It runs this Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

We have just returned from the 'Munster Circuit', a collection of 5 dog shows in a week in the south of Ireland. We had a very successful week, with many wins. There was a bumper entry of 40 Wolfhounds at the shows, with exhibitors coming from Britain for the week. Firstly, at the Hound Show at Navan, Co. Meath, Gulliagh Zapata won the Green Star Dog, under Ms. Heikkinen-Lehkonen from Finland and is now half way to his Irish Championship. The next day, at Clonmel in Co. Tipperary, Ir Ch Gulliagh Zest won the Green Star Dog, with his brother Zapata receiving the Reserve to him, with another Finn, Mr. Rainer Vuorinen. On to Killarney Show in Co. Kerry, Zest won the Green Star Dog and Best of Breed under Mr. J. Wauben from the Netherlands, and went on to win the Hound Group under Mrs. B. Beare. At Limerick, Zest got the Reserve Green Star Dog and at Tralee, he got the Green Star Dog under Mr. P. Fodstad from Norway. So a successful week, and we have now won the last 6 out 7 Green Star Dogs with Zest and Zapata.

Yet another good day with Ir Ch Gulliagh Zest at the Dun Laoghaire & District Canine Club International Championship. Under Mr. H O'Donoghue , Zest won his 2nd CACIB, Green Star and Best of Breed, while Gulliagh Narnia won the Reserve Green Star and Reserve CACIB. Then, Zest went on to win the Hound Group under Mr. F.W. Cuthbert and 4th in Best in Show, under Mr. M. Forte.

Also we have just heard that Ir & GB Ch Ch Gulliagh Serendipity's sister, Am CH Gulliagh Sionna, owned by Ms. Glynis Littlewood, won Veteran Class and then Best of Opposite Sex at the Irish Wolfhound Club of New England Specialty at the age of seven under judge Mrs. E. Flanagan

Just returned from Dundalk & District Championship Show, at which we had some great results. Under Mr. Michael Hall-Hughes from UK/SA, the brother and sister Gulliagh Zest and Zamora won both Green Stars and Gulliagh Narnia the Reserve Green Star. Zest went on to win the Best of Breed and Group 4 under Mr. Michael Gavin, and also confirmed his Irish Championship!!! Also Narnia and Nedine went on to win the Best Brace overall under Mr. Tom Creamer.

The Finney family has just returned from Luxembourg, which Marion judged Wandhond Festival 2003. She judged Basenjis, Whippets, Salukis, and Irish Wolfhounds. Her Wolfhound winner was the bitch, It Ch Stoneybrook Sandslash, owned by Luca Valerani, and bred by Lyn and Judy Simon from the United States.
