Another successful Munster Circuit over, five dog shows over seven days, in the South of Ireland. These shows have the highest entries of all breeds throughout the Irish show year, as a large number of British exhibitors come over for a week's holiday to beautiful Kerry.

Sunday was Clonmel International Championship Show, in south Tipperary, both Ir Ch & Int Ch Gulliagh Zest and Gulliagh Molly Malone won the Reserve CACIBs and Green Stars. Then the bandwagon moved on to Killarney Championship Show, in Co. Kerry, where on Tuesday, under Mr. Michael Derbyshire from Australia, G Zest won the dog Green Star and Best of Breed, and Gulliagh Nedine claimed the bitch Reserve Green Star.

Limerick Championship Show, in Adare, Co. Limerick, on Thursday was another successful show, as G Zest won the Green Star under Mr José Homem de Mello. And to cap off the week on Saturday at Tralee Championship, Mr H Yost from the USA being the judge, both G Zest and G Nedine won the Green Stars and Zest beat his cousin for the Best of Breed.

That left G Zest as easily the top winner Irish Wolfhound on this year's Munster Circuit.

Just returned from a late finish at Dún Laoghaire CC International Championship Show, where Ir Ch & Int Ch Gulliagh Zest won the Green Star and CACIB, and Best of Breed out of a very good entry of Irish Wolfhounds, Mrs G McDowell was the judge. Zest then went on to win Group 4 under breed specialist Mr J Behan.

Bangor and North Down Canine Club Championship Show was held at Balmoral Showgrounds today, and our Gulliagh Nedine won the bitch Green Star under Mr F Bothwell.

At Bray & District Championship Show, once again Gulliagh has excelled. Mr S Knight was the judge of both the Dachshunds and Irish Wolfhounds. Candy, our Dachshund, was first in the ring, and won the Green Star. And then the Wolfhounds entered. Ir Ch & Int Ch Gulliagh Zest was in magnificent showing form, and took the Green Star and Best of Breed, then went on to top the Hound Group, under Mrs P MacMahon. He finished Best in Show 4, with Mr Ned Burke officiating.

Just returned from another trip to Bonnie Scotland, where we showed at the Border Union Championship Show, under Mrs M Holder. And once again we had 'Scottish luck'. Ir & Int Ch Gulliagh Zest won the reserve CC, against a healthy entry of males.

Our Bruce, Gulliagh Zapata, today took BOB at the Munster Canine Society Championship Show in Cork. This was a points major, and gives him his Irish Championship. So, he joins his litter brother and sister,  Ir & Int Ch Gulliagh Zest and Ch Gulliagh Zamora, in the "upper house".  This happens to be the first time that an Irish Wolfhound kennel in Ireland has made up 3 litter mates in the one ownership. This is also the first litter in the British Isles produced using frozen semen (the sire: Am/Can Ch Stoneybrook Konjur). Same day we were happy also to appear in the Hound Group with our Mini Wire-Haired Dachshund who also won BOB.

We took a pack of 4 Irish Wolfhounds to Scotland for the weekend. First on the agenda was the Hound Association of Scotland Ch Show held in beautiful Kelso in the Scottish Borders. A good day was had with Gulliagh Sequoia again winning his class and good seconds with Zest and Gulliagh Nedine, the latter now thankfully agreeing to show almost with enthusiasm. But the highlight was Ir Ch Gulliagh Zamora winning Open Bitch and going on to the CC and BOB under judge, Mrs June Minns. This is her first step towards her UK Championship.  Following the show, we made our way northwards to far-off Inverness, where we were delighted to meet, Gerald O'Hagan and Leslie Boyle,  the owners of our Gulliagh Sorrel, and their newly-acquired, Gulliagh Zachary. Wonderful Scottish hospitality, food, highland scenery, and beautifully reared and happy Irish Wolfhounds, all made it a grand finale to a most memorable weekend.

Another successful day at another International Show, this time at Combined Canine Club Int. Show. Once again we won our classes with our Wolfhound males, but the star of the day was little Candy vom Gesselner Feld, who won Green Star Bitch as well as her first CACIB, under Ms. Rekinra.

Back home in Ireland at the first, and biggest, Championship Show, the IKC's St Patrick's All Breed Int Ch Show, our Gulliagh Sequoia won the Adult Class, and G Zest the Champion Dog Class, Green Star, CACIB and Best of Breed.  This his fourth CACIB gives him the title of International Champion. We were delighted as he is the most enthusiastic of show dogs, and never lets you down  -  sometimes over exuberant, but why shouldn't he be enjoying himself? He thus becomes the first Irish Wolfhound male to achieve the Int Championship. Other successes on the day were Liam & Teresa Dean's winning the Youth Bitch class with Gulliagh Biddy Mulligan, and, her brother,  our Gulliagh Paddy Kavanagh winning the Youth Dog.

Crufts was once again a happy hunting ground for Gulliagh Irish Wolfhounds. Gulliagh Sequoia followed up his recent Reserve CC at the LKA with 1st place in the large Post Graduate class. Then, Ir Ch Gulliagh Zest was placed 2nd in the numerous and star-studded Open Class.
